Gund's My 1st Nighty Night by Reebonz Kids

If you buy luxury products such as Miu Miu, Gucci, Prada and Louis Vuitton online, you may have heard of Reebonz, an online exclusive members only company that sells them at great bargains. Recently they've added their latest vertical known as Reebonz Kids, which also offers the most exclusive brands in children's wear, toys and crafts. Some of the brands that they offer are not even available in Singapore.

So when Reebonz contacted me to review one of their toys, I was naturally excited and happy to do so. The package arrived for me two days ago via a very helpful delivery man. He had actually just missed me by a few minutes as he arrived at my home after I had just left. But he was nice enough to travel to where I was 15 minutes away and pass me my package =)

Reebonz: Unveil the Surprise!

True to their tagline, 'Unveil the Surprise', it felt like Christmas came early as I eagerly opened the bag (even though technically the present was not for me).

It was the My 1st Nighty Night bear by Gund!

It's the My 1st Nighty Night Bear!

Gund, which has been manufacturing top quality toys since 1898, is famous for their soft and huggable soft toys. My First Nighty Night bear is a bedtime companion for young children that aims to help them sleep well at night.

At the press of a button located on the 'hand' of the bear, the bear moves its head from left to right according to the beat of 'Twinkle, Twinkle Little Stars' (which also happens to be Girlee's favourite song!).

The Bear emits music and light!

At the same time, light is emitted from the base of each of its feet and the purpose is to help children, who are afraid of the dark, to sleep. It can almost be a bed side lamp (although the light isn't very bright).

I'd love to say that Girlee took to the toy right away, but alas, that was not the case. In fact, she took one glance at it, touched it a little bit and then crawled somewhere else. But I know my girl, she takes longer than other babies to warm up to soft toys (I have no idea why).

So the next day I tried to introduce her to her 'friend' again and this time it was more successful!

Finally got acquainted with her new bear

She loves to bite the little star on the tip of its hat and kiss its nose. She'll bob her head along with the music and hug it while watching TV. It was a sweet sight =)

The disadvantage of the bear was its hard body, which contained the mechanism that are responsible for movement, lights and sound, so it may not be very comfortable to hug. The music can be slightly loud at night, which might disturb those who are trying to sleep.

Despite the downsides, I still think the bear is not a lost cause as the music, movement and lights would definitely appeal to a young toddler who's just learning to sleep on his/her own. I'm sure this bear will come to good use when baby girl starts sleeping on her own too =)
