We all know how important a good moisturizer and UV protection is and the nice thing is that this product gives you both. Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer contains glycerin, diisopropyl adipate and cyclomethicone, which bind together to provide long lasting moisturization, as well as Parsol® 1789 and octocrylene, which offer high protection against UVA and UVB wavelength (the 2 main types of UV rays that causes damage to the skin).
UVA is thought to play an important role in skin aging and wrinkling (photoageing) while UVB tends to damage the skin's more superficial epidermal layers, leading to sunburn, and plays a key role in the development of skin cancer. With repeated UV exposures, the skin loses its ability to repair itself and the damage accumulates. Recurrent ultraviolet exposure breaks down collagen, impairs the synthesis of new collagen and also attacks the elastin fibres.
Knowing how damaging the effects of UV rays are (and not just for those who are frequently in the sun or outdoors), I've vowed never to step out of the house without some form of sunscreen and carry an umbrella with UV protection when I'm under the hot sun. Not going to run the risk of early skin damage, freckling, discoloration and premature aging!
Which is why the KS (short for kiasu, a Singaporean slang for "scared to lose out") Singaporean in me decided to add the Cetaphil Moisturizer to the many SPF products that I already own =)

This moisturizer is great for when I need to leave the house and am too lazy to put on make-up (it's where most of my UV protection comes from). It's also light and smooth so you can also use it under make-up if yours doesn't have SPF like mine does. The best thing is that it is non-comedogenic, which is perfect for my oily skin!
The thing that I didn't like about this product is that it still leaves my face feeling a little sticky even though it promises a non-greasy feeling. But I suppose it's because I put too much of it on my face (KS in me at work again?! *laughs*). Also, I felt a tingling sensation when I applied it the first time on my skin. Perhaps it's because I didn't shake the bottle? I think people with sensitive skin should probably try a little at a time just in case.
If you've been following my blog, you will know how I keep harping on wearing sunscreen on your face! Seriously. If you still haven't gotten any, it's really time to invest in one NOW!
