Cut on Baby Boy's lip in the morning |
We couldn't wait to check out of the dreaded hotel (actually it wasn't that bad but because for some reason we were particularly "cursed" when we were there, it was bad for us) and transfer to our preferred hotel.
We took the free shuttle bus from Alfresco Phuket Hotel (see shuttle times here) to Jungceylon and had our lunch at Chai Meng Phuket (check the Jungceylon directory for exact location). The restaurant is very unassuming from the outside and looked very much like some Chinese restaurant when in actuality they serve a mixture of different cuisine including Thai. There were very few people inside when we went in so we were initially very apprehensive.
Tall glass of chocolate for my girl (she was beyond thrilled); Fresh coconut juice for the hubby |
Pineapple rice in a pineapple (Cost the same as the seafood stall at The Patong Walk but had more ingredients. Definitely better and more worth it in our opinion.) |
The other dishes were really good too and the final bill came up to roughly S$70 not too expensive considering we had four adults and one kid.
We did some quick shopping before taking a very expensive cab, i.e. it cost us 500 baht (about S$20 for a really short distance!), to U Zenmaya Phuket Resort.
U Zenmaya Phuket Resort (Address: 6/181 Moo 6, Kamala, Kathu, Phuket, Thailand) |
We actually booked the much cheaper hotel for the last 2 days because we wanted to splurge for this hotel. And believe me, it was worth every penny!
Hot towels at the lobby area |
Reception area with chairs to sit and relax while they check you in |
We were given hot towels on arrival and were asked to choose which type of soap and which stuffing of pillow we preferred! I don't think I have ever been asked what type of pillow I wanted before! Ordinarily, I would be happy if there are enough pillows for all of us. Here you can have as many pillows as you want! Wow!
Four types of soap (Jasmine, black sesame and something) |
Five stuffing of pillow (You can press on the samples to have a feel of which you prefer) |
Hubby chose the ultrasoft duck down while I chose the Firm Ball for more support for my neck. At least we know we will be sleeping in comfort tonight =)
We were then escorted to our rooms, the Deluxe Seaview with Pool Access. This means that it is attached to a private pool that is only used by 3 rooms.
Walking to our rooms and feeling very tranquil |
We booked our room at $328 per room per night, inclusive of a 1 hour spa per person per stay (more on our spa experience tomorrow). Although the room was pricey, it was well worth the cost in my opinion! Look at the amenities and the view! =)
View of the pool and sea right outside Room 1 (mum-in-law and bro-in-law) |
Living area next to pool of Room 2 (Hubby and me) |
Clockwise from left: Deck chairs and table for feasting & hanging out; TV and study table; Fully stocked fridge |
Good size bathroom and the usual amenities |
The best thing about the bathroom is its jacuzzi bathtub that is big enough for 2 adults! Shiok! =)
Whirlpool bathtub |
Instructions on how to operate the bathtub, from changing the lights to changing the speed of the jets to adjusting the temperature |
Buttons to press to get our bath just right |
Each room also has two pairs of room slippers and two pairs of beach slippers and a beach bag, which were meant for going to the private beach of the hotel (more on it tomorrow).
Clockwise from left: Hubby loves the comfortable bathrobe and room slippers; You can choose to wear their room or beach slippers; Good size beach bag for borrow |
The best part of the room has got to be our own private pool that could only be accessed by two Deluxe rooms (that's us) and one suite (that was a couple from China). We had the pool mostly to ourselves most of the time!
View of the deck from the pool |
Deck of the in-law's room and the deck of our room were separated by a stone wall but I loved the fact that I can visit them by swimming (or climbing if you don't want to get wet) over haha |
Beautiful view of the Phuket sea and neighbouring islands |
My family loves to swim, if you can't already tell, and had a blast! The best thing about having your own pool? Swimming at 9pm and eating whatever you want at the poolside. Awesome =)
The hotel also provided us with a cot in each room so that Baby Boy can be kept safe (Do note that the hotel's policy is no guests under the age of 1 years old for safety and comfort reasons) |
We continued to explore the rest of the hotel and discovered the public pool (for other common folks who don't have a private pool *muahaha*) and a library of books.
Very comfortable chairs for relaxing with a cup of tea and a book |
We were too tired to eat out so we ordered room service! The price was the same as if you had eaten at the hotel's restaurant although there is less items to choose from.
Room service |
We ordered a pizza, some beef starter and fish I think? Can't remember because the taste was exactly that, forgettable. |
After so many ups and downs in this trip, we've finally starting to really enjoy ourselves! No more budget hotel for us from now on! Looking forward to more enjoyment and relaxation tomorrow *grin*
