UK-Paris Day 3: Stamford Bridge Chelsea, Buckingham Palace & Oxford Street

It was the hubby's turn to fulfill his dream, as we head off this morning to visit Stamford Bridge, the home of Chelsea Football Club! It's no secret that the hubby is a major fan! (Hello, have you seen our family photos here, here and here? 😂)

We took the very confusing District Line (green) to Earl's Court Station and transferred to another District Line heading towards Wimbledon. There are many District Lines heading in multiple directions so make sure that you board the right one. We alighted at Fulham Broadway Station, which was only a 5-minute walk away from Stamford Bridge.

The hubby was so excited to be home! 😁

Next home game is in 2 days! Too bad we couldn't catch it.

The hubby was really happy that he managed to fulfill his dream of visiting Stamford Bridge. Next time we come back, we'll definitely try to catch a game live!

We took the District Line (green) back to Earl's Court Station and transferred to the District Line train headed to Victoria Station. From there, it was just a 5-minute walk to Buckingham Palace.

When we visited Buckingham Palace previously, the sun was blazing down ferociously on us while the Londoners basked in its warmth. This time, however, we were freezing! 😁

The moment the girl saw Buckingham Palace, she was like "Minions"! She's right, it was featured in the Minion movie (and Cars 2 but she wouldn't have known that cos she has not watched it yet) *laughs*

No crowds to block us!

We were initially incredulous as to why there was such a big hoo-ha outside Buckingham Palace, until I found out that it was just announced that morning that Prince Harry was engaged to Meghan Markle! Ahhhhh, that explains it! 😁

We weren't exactly big fans of Prince Harry (if it were the Queen, that's a different story!), so we continued our walk through Green Park to get to the popular Burger & Lobster in time for our 12 noon reservation.

Green Park in winter, a stark contrast to the lush green foliage of summer

However, as we were still early, we hung out at nearby Caffe Nero to escape the cold.

Hot chocolate and snacks in Caffè Nero

Caffè Nero's hot chocolate was the best and most value for money hot chocolate in UK in my opinion! So good!

When it was finally time, we headed to Burger & Lobster. The mum and I were so excited that we were finally able to dine in the restaurant as they didn't have a table for us the last time we were here.

A very happy family enjoying our burgers and lobsters!
The lobsters were soooo good!
Juicy and nicely done, yums!

After a very satisfying lunch, we continued on our journey to Oxford Street, the famous shopping street in London. We took the Victoria Line (light blue) from Green Park Station and transferred to the  Central Line (red) at Oxford Circus Station to Tottenham Court Road Station.

My main aim was to visit probably the biggest Primark in London, Primark Oxford Street East. It's like 5 floors of shopping awesomeness that does not let you leave until you've spent all of your pounds! They've also got a whole section of Harry Potter merchandise! The hubby really had to drag me out of there!!! *laughs*

Primark Oxford Street East
(Address: 14-28 Oxford St, Fitzrovia, London W1D 1AU, UK)
There's a counter where you can design and customise your own tees! The girl got to design hers and loved it!
I went crazy at the Harry Potter section!!!

We spent like 2 hours there while the hubby snoozed in the waiting area. Even though the hubby grumbled that we took so long, it was still not enough time to finish walking the whole Primark! We finally decided to leave because it was dark and we were hungry! *laughs*

The Christmas illumination along Oxford Street to Bond Street

After seeing the beautiful Christmas lights at Oxford Street, I can understand why people would grumble that our Orchard Road ones pale in comparison! The ones in London were soooo much better!

We bought take away for dinner in our hotel room and had an early night. It was an awesome day =)
