Nagoya Day 10: Departure & My Reflections

As we needed to catch an early flight, the whole family woke up at 6.30am to have our breakfast and prepare to check out.

Since we did not have a lot of time to eat breakfast, we decided that only the girl and I will have our breakfast at the Bricks Restaurant (since the breakfast for 2 adults is included in our room price) while the rest of the family will have their breakfast (we bought bread and eggs the day before) in the room.

My yummy breakfast!

In order to catch our 10.30am flight, we needed to leave Legoland Japan by 8am latest. However, we were horrified to find out that the earliest limousine bus to the airport would be too late for us! It would also take way too long and too troublesome to travel by train (more than an hour as we needed to change trains). With 3 large luggage, 2 kids, 1 baby and 1 senior in our travelling party, it really did not make sense for us to lug everything and everyone to the train station and join the peak-hour train commute.

Hence, the only option was to book 2 taxis that cost us approximately ¥13000 per taxi. It was really expensive but at least it afforded us convenience, speed (the journey to the airport was only 25 minutes), comfort and safety for the price. We also consoled ourselves that the money we saved from the air tickets by taking an earlier flight can cover the cost of the taxi so we still saved money overall! 😂

After checking in our luggage, we did some last minute shopping at the shops in transit! 😊

Right: Loads of goodies to buy back as souvenirs!

We departed Nagoya Chubu Centrair International Airport as scheduled at 10.30am.

The journey took us 7 hours 20 minutes and we arrived in Singapore at around 4.50pm. I was so super tired by the time we arrived home and couldn't wait to take a nice long nap... as if! I'm a breastfeeding mother of a 9-month-old baby! If I can sleep 4 hours without being awaken for a feed, it is a luxury! 😂

But as they say, it is so good to be home! 💒

My Reflections:

This is our very first visit to Nagoya and I must say that I really love it a lot. The pace is a lot slower and quieter here than the bigger cities of Tokyo and Osaka and things are cheaper.

I love that Nagoya has a little bit of everything: shopping, nature/sight-seeing, and good food. I really enjoyed exploring the mountains at Mt Gozaisho, Takayama and Shirakawa-go. Most of all, I really love Legoland Japan!

Unique Lego London Bus magnet I found at Legoland Japan shop! So cute right?
I bought this one of a kind Lego that you can only get at Legoland! 😄

If we were given the opportunity, we will definitely return to Nagoya and possibly do a Nagoya-Takayama-Nara-Kyoto-Osaka trip in future! 😄

Until then, it's goodbye for now! 👋
