Hat Yai II Day 2-3: Pruksa Park

DAY 2

We've pretty much visited most of the usual tourist attractions during our last trip hence I thought of visiting Pruksa Park, an old theme park now opened to visitors for free.

Pruksa Park houses the restaurant Wine Village
Carp pond

As an old theme park, Pruksa Park houses many European architecture that are great back drops for phototaking!

Be a real princess in this carriage!

Replica of the castle structures in Europe

We found a passage that allowed you to climb to the top of the castle for a better view!

Winding steps don't stop me even if I'm carrying a baby in a carrier! 😉
Kids enjoyed exploring the castle while I enjoyed capturing photos of our exploration
It was almost sunset

At the base of the 'castle' is a small sheep farm. You can purchase animal feed to feed the very hungry and enthusiastic sheep!

Sheep farm
You can get really close to the sheep!
(Baby is understandably cautious)
Feel free to pat them, they are really cute!
More sheep

Check out the really cute lamb in the corner!

At first we bought pellets to feed the sheep but it was too small and none of us were willing to let the sheep eat from our bare hands

Then the hubby went and bought some leaves

It was definitely more fun for us and the kids

Super hungry sheep

Aggressively fighting for food

There was also a small aviary on the premise that you can enter and get up close to the birds in it, provided that you ensure that you don't accidentally release a bird from its home (you'll have to compensate them if you do!).

Little aviary

If you're hungry, the restaurant Wine Village is also open to serve lunch and dinner.

Swinging on the swings at Wine Village

There was also a really old-school but rickety carousel at the entrance, which didn't cost much so we let the kids have fun riding it.

It's really slow but looks very good in pictures

Wheee!

Just as we were watching the kids ride the carousel, we received news that Singapore was going to further tighten her borders. Instead of only requiring travellers from selected countries to serve Stay-Home-Notice (SHN) for 14 days, MOH announced that this will be extended to all travellers returning to Singapore after 16 March 2359. We were supposed to only return to Singapore on 17 March!

In order to avoid the 14-day SHN, we called Scoot to change our flight from 17 to 16 March. Thankfully, Scoot allowed us to do so without any penalty! Wow, thank you Jesus for answering our prayers!

With our hearts at peace knowing that we had secured our return flight, we went for dinner. We decided to spend as much of our Thai baht as possible, since we don't know when we will be able to use it again (we thought it will be a year before we returned to Thailand, we didn't realise then just how much we won't be able to use it ☹️).

Yummy big prawns that look like mini lobsters! So yums!

DAY 3

It was supposed to be a day of shopping and massage but we cut short our trip in a bid to get back to Singapore. So thankful to Scoot for allowing us to change our flight!

Such a nice sunny day for a flight home via Scoot

Home Sweet Home!

We later found out that The Straits Times had secretly taken a picture of us arriving in Singapore on 16 March 2020 and our faces were on their news article!

Don't know whether we are 'heng' (lucky) or 'suay' (unlucky) 🤨

We don't know when we will ever be allowed to return to Hat Yai. Until we do, Hat Yai please hang in there. Hope to see you again!
