Ipoh-Cherating Day 5-6: Club Med Fun from Day to Night!

DAY 5

We woke early and had breakfast at The Mutiara at 7am so that we can drop off the kids at Mini Club at 8am.

GOs get their food from the same buffet line as guests! πŸ˜€
Good selection of bread
We're excited about different things. Me for the teh tarik, the boy for his favourite sausage, ham and eggs!

We left the kids in the good hands of the Mini Club GOs (Gentle Organisers aka Club Med activity staff)!

Little kids having fun at Mini Club

Club Med's one of few resorts that takes care of your kids so that you can have your much deserved alone time for self-care! Mega appreciation for the Mini Club GOs! πŸ˜πŸ˜‰

The Eldest and I headed to the gym for our Pilates session.

Eldest's first time at a pilates class

We had a really relaxing session as the GO didn't push us but went at a leisurely pace.

After pilates, we noticed that the Batik Painting Studio was right next to the Gym. The Eldest and I decided to participate in the activity since a mid-sized batik painting only cost RM 60 per piece.

Eldest picked a butterfly, I picked a turtle

Our end product! Had a great time!

We headed to our room to change into our swimwear before heading to the pool for a pre-lunch swim.

Swimming at noon! Super hot! πŸ₯΅

We then had lunch at The Mutiara.

Chicken rice and soya on the menu

Love the dessert bar! Enjoyed the crepe and ice cream combo! πŸ˜‹

While the kids were still happily engaged in their activities, the adults headed to Pantai Beach via the Beach Tram.

After travelling for about 5 minutes, we arrived at Pantai Beach, Club Med's private beach for guests only.

The highlights of the beach include water sports and an adult-only Zen Pool where children below the age of 18 are not allowed.

While the adults drank alcohol and laze by the Zen Pool, the older teens and I went Rock Climbing at the natural rocks next to the Zen Pool.

Hubby enjoying the drinks and the view while the teens and I signed up for rock climbing.

I like rock climbing but have always thought that one needed to be extra fit to do it. I've since learnt that having such a mindset actually limits me! I climbed higher than I had expected and would have been able to climb all the way, had I not limited myself!

The Eldest climbing a real rock wall for the first time!
Both my nephews were real pros and conquered the wall so easily! πŸ˜€
I managed to climb more than half of the rock wall and was so close to the top!
Totally regretted giving up halfway! *Sigh*

On hindsight, I've should have re-attempted the climb and gone all the way to the top! In any case, it was a great experience climbing a natural rock wall for the first time and I felt proud of myself for doing it! 😁

The teens and I went kayaking next! One of my favourite activities! πŸ˜€

Excited to go kayaking!
Out to sea!
The Eldest and I shared a kayak at first...
But she later felt seasick due to the choppy waters so I switched to a solo kayak

I had so much fun that we were out at sea for more than an hour! πŸ˜„

The Sister-in-law and Mum-in-law returned to Mini Club via the tram to pick the kids while the rest of us spent a bit more time at the Zen Pool before leaving.

We gathered at the pool for yet another swim together before dinner! πŸ˜„

The evening performance that night was very different from the circus show we watched the night before. GOs representing every department participated in the Just For Fun Comedy Show, including all the department heads, Vice General Manager and the General Manager himself!

Just For Fun Comedy Show

The leaders proved that they don't just talk the talk, they also walk the walk! The leaders take on the most embarrassing roles and, together with their staff, make themselves the butt of jokes, for the roaring laughter of the guests! One segment consisted of the leaders torturing each other for audience amusement and I noticed many GOs sitting in the audience and videoing their bosses! πŸ˜…

I can understand why the team is so motivated and passionate!

DAY 6

The sunrise was beautiful that morning!

As usual, we had breakfast at The Mutiara.

Yummy breakfast

After breakfast, I dropped off the Littlest at Mini Club (the Boy decided not to join).

Having fun on the trampoline & playing with friends

While the Littlest was enjoying herself, the Eldest and I went for another session of Pilates since we enjoyed it a lot the day before. However, the GO was a very fit lady who made it a really intensive session! Super good workout! πŸ˜…

After pilates, we joined the rest of the family at the Green Corner for the Botanical Walk at 10am.

Thanks to our GO for an interesting tour! πŸ˜ƒ

After our nature walk, we went for Archery at 11am.

Archery
For many of us, it was our first time shooting arrows!

Archery was very fun, though I don't think I have any talent for it! πŸ˜„πŸ˜†

We were hungry after archery and had lunch (at The Mutiara of course). We happened to see the kids at the Mini Club having their lunch at the Enak restaurant.

My lunch!

After lunch, we spotted the Mini Club GOs bringing the kids to Pantai Beach. They were going to play at the beach or go sailing!

The Eldest and I felt like we had all the activities that we had wanted to do so we spent the rest of the early afternoon chilling by the pool. We met up with the brother- and sister-in-law after their spa treatment and we had noodles at Enak Restaurant.

We picked up the Littlest from Mini Club at 4.30pm and my family headed to Pantai Beach for the last time via the beach tram.

On the way to Pantai Beach

I planned to go sailing and kayaking with the Boy but the Sports Centre was closing at 5pm, hence the Boy and I could only ride the kayak for 10 minutes.

Short duration but fun for both of us!

With the Sports Centre close, the area near the Sports Centre became deserted.

Empty beach chairs near the Sports Centre

The kids continued to play at the beach while the Hubby tried to catch crabs, as usual.

One of my favourite photos of the sand, sky and sea!

We hung out at the beach until it was time to leave and caught the 5.45pm beach tram back.

After washing up, we rejoined the rest of our family for Dinner Under the Stars! The sister-in-law managed to chope good tables with awesome views of the performances above the pool later that night!

Yummy dinner!

Club Med has transformed the pool to present a very unique aqua circus show! I've never seen anything like it before!

The performers attempting tricks above the water!

It was a great performance and we enjoyed very much!

After the show, the GOs invited the guests to join them for their White Wednesday Dance Party where we danced the rest of the night away!

Vice General Manager leading the dance from the bar top!

Been so long since I've had a chance to dance the night away (albeit not very well πŸ˜…). It was a super fun night! 😁
